Without using expletives to express myself, I really can't believe that it's already December. The last month of the year. THREE MORE WEEKS LEFT OF THE MONTH! I can't wrap my head around it at all.
(Goals: To chill and stop acting like this concept of time is so brand new.)
Much of this year has been/felt like a blur to me and this month is already no different. It's off to a whirlwind start and it will be pretty crazy until the 31st.
I came back last night from Barbados (!!!) where my family was on vacation for the week. It was my first time to the island and it definitely won't be my last. Barbados is beautiful. Gorgeous beaches, wonderful people, rich culture and of course, delicious food. It was a nice, calm week away before the storm at work ahead that is winter and holiday flying.

Speaking of winter, it's currently snowing. Since I'm on that post-vacation hangover where I plan to exert as little energy as possible, today's weather couldn't be more perfect. Snow days are automatic do nothing and be lazy days, no?
As lazy as I feel, (and want to be) I have been somewhat productive today. I adult-ed and paid bills, unpacked my suitcase and finished laundry. Soon I will fold said laundry and repack my suitcase because LOL, I leave tomorrow for a week of training for my new role at work. I kind of know what I am bringing, so it's just a matter of packing it away at some point today. Either way, I'm just happy to be home and sleeping in my own bed, even if it's just for one night.

Reading: Cannery Row by John Steinbeck.
In discussing my future travel plans with one of my friends to visit Monterey, California, they suggested I read Cannery Row beforehand. From my introduction in high school, John Steinbeck remains as one of my favorite authors for his writing style and story development, so I purchased the book immediately. (Amazon App/Prime ftw, always!) So far, Cannery Row has kept me captivated with every page and every new theme introduced in the storyline.
Eating: Glutino Apple Cinnamon Toaster Pastries
I recently went back to eating more gluten-free and dairy-free and have been discovering new-to-me brands and products as a result. I recently picked up a box of the Glutino Apple Cinnamon Toaster Pastries and was absolutely blown away by how good they are. It's hard to believe they are gluten-free! My new favorite snack to save me from hanger. (It kind of reminds me of one of my favorite desserts from summer.)
Wearing: 32 Degrees Packable Down Puffer.
I picked up this packable coat at Macy's with a bit of hesitation. On one hand I thought it would be a great addition to my suitcase for winter flying and layovers. But on the other hand, I was worried about wasting my money. Could this tiny coat really be warm?
I finally gave it a try this week going to/coming back to NY from Barbados and I can definitely say I am sold! It's so lightweight and folds up so small, I threw it into my bag once we arrived in Barbados where it took up no room and I forgot about it. (Until it was time to come back to NY of course.) Not to mention it's actually warm! It's definitely not meant to replace a traditional winter coat if you live somewhere cold (some layers underneath are advised), but for climate hops, it's the perfect piece.
Loving: This video by Allure on what makes a friend, according to Centenarians. Prepare to feel al the feels. My favorite takeaway from the article:
The best kinds of friendships will transcend time, get you through your darkest days, and will be there to lift you up when you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders. (That, and they'll hopefully make you laugh a hell of a lot, too.)
