I see you April, knocking around the corner. But we still have a few days until your arrival so slow your roll.
After a busy month of flying, I’m off for a few days before I start my reserve (on call) block. Lots of little things to do here and there but since we are overdue for a chat, let’s wrap up March with a little check-in of some recent goings on.
This is Us
My friend Amanda has been begging urging me to get into This Is Us since it started. One Saturday back in January, she ever so politely asked me to watch the pilot episode since I was off. In one week, I watched season one in its entirety and caught up to season two. Needless to say, I absolutely love this show. It’s so emotionally raw, but my favorite thing about the show is how well developed every single character is. (Beth Pearson is my personal real life hero/ #WCW.)
That said, can we talk about the season two season finale?!?!? I really hope we continue with the flash forwards and what could have beens for the Big Three because I am not ready to let go of seeing that fine man on the regular. (Don’t want to spoil it for anyone but if you know, you know!)

Spring Cleaning + Personal Style
It was an insane 78 degrees a few weeks ago (before the four nor’easters hit) and it had me all sorts of ready for spring. I absolutely love spring cleaning, so over the last few weeks I’ve been gathering inspiration and refreshing my space. But with any good purge and refresh comes the part I hate, the shop and replace.
Going through my closet, I realized just how much my personal style has changed over the last year. (Also, just how much I used to shop. So many tags on unworn items…) Going from a closet of mostly business casual pieces to a more casual lifestyle truly left me in a bit of a style rut. While I may not work in fashion anymore, it is still a huge part of who I am and I will never let that side of me go. Sometimes I miss “dressing up” for work, but I am definitely finding ways and piece to make a more casual wardrobe work for me, while still staying true to me. (Thanks Pinterest!)
New Hair, Who Dis?
With my refreshed (word of the post) sense of self , I decided it was time to do something new to my hair. The stress of last year caused a fair amount of my hair to fall out leaving my length uneven. I thought about extensions but ultimately went eff it and got it cut into a short, sorta blunt bob instead. It’s the lightest (and shortest) my hair has ever been but its been a welcome change. While it’s not as low maintenance as I thought it would be, not having to worry about being in compliance or tension headaches from ponytails is a major win.

Broke Millennial by Erin Lowry. I saw someone reading it in the terminal and went “same”. I’m trying to get into it so I will update my thoughts on it in a future post.
Travel Breaks + 2018 Travel Plans
I’ve been taking a break from personal travel, primarily to get the year off to a fiscally responsible start. As amazing as I want to travel, for me it’s just not worth racking up any type of debt for. Since I have a new schedule, I’m working on getting an average of how many hours I am comfortable working so that I can start saving again to travel. Italy has been on my mind a lot lately as well as a few domestic destinations like LA, Austin, and Disney. Truly, the wanderlust is real with this one.
That’s all from me for now. I will just be here building furniture from Ikea (the worst) and making it rain at Home Goods. I just love the spring. xx
