A Few of My Must Have Inflight Essentials

As I was packing my bag for Greece, swapping things from my work bag to my leisure bag, I took notice to some of the products that I simply cannot fly with out. Flying is a lot, no matter who you are, and whether the flight is 2 hours long or 12 hours long, there are a few things that I simply have to have with me to make it more enjoyable.

Now this isn’t a comprehensive list, (one may be coming in the future…) but wether I am working a flight or headed somewhere for leisure, these are a few of my inflight essentials for some very necessary mid-flight pampering and TLC.

Lush Mouthwash Tabs

In the last year I have become completely obsessed with Lush. It’s to the point where I have been avoiding flights that touch Orlando (MCO) because MCO to JFK often means delays and delays for me means passing the time shopping at the Lush outside of security. (And going to Chick-fil-A…) On one of my last trips to the Orlando Airport Lush, the sales associate got me hooked on their new mouthwash tabs. They are perfect for mid-flight after meals or prior to landing (or waking up on a red-eye…) for that just brushed, so fresh and so clean feeling. Plus, since they are tablet form, no need to worry about TSA restrictions.

Lucas’ Papaw Ointment

I first heard of Lucas’ Papaw Ointment from a popular flight attendant vlogger on Youtube, Fly with Stella. I was just about to order it off of Amazon when I found it here in NYC at Ricky’s. This stuff is AMAZING for skin! I use it on everything from my cuticles, to cuts and burns. For the latter especially, it heals the skin so, so quickly. Honestly, I think it’s actually a miracle product.

Sea Band Motion Sickness Wristbands

I first came across Sea Bands on my Anthem of the Seas cruise. They were so effective at curing my sea sickness, that I couldn’t help but wonder if they would work for the occasional and unexpected air sickness. Let’s just say I now have two pairs with me at all times when I travel. If your like me and prefer not to take OTC drugs unless absolutely necessary, then this is the perfect alternative for you. These bands have truly saved me during some serious cases of turbulence.

Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve

Product promises are a dime a dozen, but this one had me hook, line and sinker. “A maximum-strength moisturizer for dry, active hands.” *Raises dry, active hand.* It’s no secret that airplane air is extremely drying. Add in the amount of hand washing or sanitizing you may do en route and it is absolutely brutal for your skin. This hand salve combats it like a champ and moisturizes like a dream. A little goes a long way, so you get your bang for your buck. Plus, you can usually find it at the outlet or Nordstrom Rack for a bit cheaper!

Kiehl’s Cactus Flower & Tibetan Ginseng Hydrating Mist

Going back to just how awful and drying the plane air is, let’s not forget how germ-y it is too. This face mist is probably my favorite and most pampering inflight essential. This was recommended to me by a Kiehl’s specialist when I first started flying and while I was skeptical at first, I am completely sold on it now. There is nothing more luxurious than a few spritz of this spray mid-flight to hydrate the skin and refresh my makeup (when I’m working). My skin stays moisturized and best of all, free of pesky breakouts that occur from long haul flights.
